Ironman Australia Triathlon

An annual event, the Ironman Triathlon attracts around 1,500 competitors and thousands of spectators from all over the world. The race involves a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike ride and 42.2 km run.

Golden Lure Game Fishing Tournament

The 25th Golden Lure Gaming Tournament is expected to attract 35-40 boats and more than 150 anglers from all over New South Wales and Queensland.

Australian Surf Festival

The Australian Surf Titles are the longest running surf event in Australia, having being held since 1964. From 2008 the Australian Surf Festival combines the National Shortboard and Longboard Titles for the first time and expands into a unique celebration of the Australian surf lifestyle. It will include the Wine and the Waves Festival, surf art and photography exhibitions, skateboarding displays and much more over two full weeks.

Billabong Koala and Wildlife Park - This Park houses a range of native animals including koalas, wombats, kangaroos and a variety of birds.

Historic Court House - Built in 1869, this court house is the only 19th century government building still standing in Port Macquarie.

Port Macquarie Observatory - Observe our wonderful solar system with the help of this telescope and planetarium.

Tacking Point Lighthouse - The third oldest lighthouse on the Australian coast. A walking track begins at the Lighthouse and leads to Flynn’s Beach, taking in magnificent views of the beaches along the way.

Roto House - A prime example of a pioneering country house that is easily seen from the grounds of the nature reserve.

St Thomas’ Church - Built by convicts in 1824-1828, the church now contains many local artifacts.

Sea Acres Rainforest Centre - Set in one of the last remaining areas of coastal rainforest in Australia, the reserve contains a number of endangered species of flora and fauna. Take a guided tour along the boardwalk.

Everglades Art Gallery - A display of Australian art and pottery.

Camel tours - Ride a camel along Lighthouse Beach.

Sightseeing - Take a tour around Port Macquarie which takes in beautiful rivers, waterfalls and spectacular views of the mountains.

Wine tasting - Be sure to visit Bago Vineyards, the Holiday Coast's most picturesque vineyard nestled amidst National Park and State Forests. Open daily for tasting and cellar door sales, local produce and cheese, picnic and BBQ facilities. Jazz concerts held monthly. Other notable wineries in the area include Cassegrain's and Lake Innes.
